It's been awhile since there's been a post here on the main page! Truth is, there hasn't been much to yap about. As our recent Facebook post states, we're all, mostly here still, but we've broken into small groups - each doing their own thing, game-wise. There's no clear answer to why as a collective, we're not getting our Battlefield: BC2 on - I've yet to hear anyone speak ill of it - Yet, very few of us are playing it, on our servers, or otherwise. Games such as Borderlands, COD4/5, L4D2 and an array of MMO's (WoW, EU, SWG, Eve, etc) have gained play in these past few months.
So it shouldn't come to much of a surprise to you that we're decided to cut back - and eliminate the cks-funded BC2 server. Battlefield servers are expensive - more than 2x the cost of a cod4/5 server, and with the non-recordable limit amount of use over the past few months that it has gotten, we (the donator(s) and I) just feel we're pouring money into the river for no reason. The second, privately funded/run BC2 shall remain, far as I'm aware, so I encourage you, if you feel the desire to get your BC2 on, to head there and help get it going. Both our servers werre geared up and running well, with the original intent that we'd either do big/small gametypes, or flexible/static types, but as stated above, for whatever reason the title just doesn't seem to be holding our gamers' attention. Stay tuned for a future cKs server on a title TBA.
In the meantime, along with the array of games mentioned above (and more), there has been interest expressed of getting together over a virtual table and throwing down some cards. Pokerstars allows just this, as several of our members are aware. The game would be entirely for fun, bragging rights, and a forum badge for the winner. Members may read up/post in the members area already started - Non-members, you're welcome to join us too, if you'd like - Please create a new post in the public area that you'd like to attend (or PM me here at the site or on xfire), and I'll grant you access to the topic as needed. As of the last post, we're trying to determine a day that'll work with everyone, and tenitively have set a start time of 8PM EST.
In closing, I just wanted to send a request for members to be on xfire when gaming - Especially during these times, it makes it a LOT easier to join up with our crew when we can see one another :)
