Well, not here in Arizona, rofl :)  As many of you are enjoying the changing of the colors, I've been hunting for some cool server code.  Like many, I have these little kiddos who aren't quite up to the challenge of your AAA rated FPS like BF3.  Nope, they want the 'easier' stuff, lol.  Since my youngest boy recently broke his arm and was consequently unable to finish his baseball season (although we still go to cheer on the team, and he has become a 3rd base coach, woot!!) I've been working on setting up a new game server here at the house.  The game is called, "Manic Digger" and yes, it is a clone of another wildly popular game.  Details for it are in the forum post, "Manic Digger Anyone?".  If ya like messing around or want to see what all the fuss is, hop on over and check it out.  Currently we have what they call a 'Creative' server - Going to be throwing up a War server as well eventually..

A generous member has filled the kitty with enough funds to put up a 3 month'er of bf3!  So first, a hearty thank you for the generous donation goes to him! :-)  The server will be up by Saturday, and wil have the info listed here.  It will be hardcore, big maps +the new expansion pack when it hits in a few days.  Hopefully we can rally the troops, get the word out to others and get it going strong!  I would also like to put the word out now that we are accepting donations for the next set of three months for those who are able.  

The usual suspects will be running for in-game admin and extenal admin (for those with android/apple) rcon tools.  Will also be looking at some of the newer addons for in-game map vote etc, as desired.

As you all know, getting it going is the hard part.  I ask, beg, wish that you all don't give in to the common instant full server desire, and instead try to get ours seeded and started up.  I know it's hard sometimes, I get it.  In order for us to grow and remain healthy as a clan, we need to make as best an effort as we can.  More to come as available.

The actual game server IP is 173.199.87.98, a search for Christian Key Smashers should pull it up just fine.  For those who rcon, it will be set up and tweaked/updated throughout the day (9/8).  For those who remote in via Procon Droid/Apple, the same bf3rcon.christiankeysmashers.com with port 27361 will be used unless otherwise noted later, and may need a reverification by me to gain entry to the system (as it is a new server).  Contact me for details ;)

The TeamSpeak server will be down today (Sunday, Aug. 5th) during the afternoon for routine maintenance and scheduled backup.  Apologies for the downage, will be back up for the evening gaming activities :)

Update:  Maintenance operations are complete, server back online!

 6/2/2012:  As a result from the recent post in the forums (and in some part, my take from the WOTC guys) the official BF3 joint ops server has wandered into the sunset.  It was a good run, and a great joint venture - I hope they feel the same as I do, in that some good friendships were formed, and I hope we see more of each other down the road.  Even two great Christian-loving gaming groups have a tough time putting a dent in what seems to be just an over-saturated market that is game servers.  While I'd love to continue running it on my own, it's just not in the cards for me now (see the post, rofl).  In the end, it's not an end-all situation, we've survived just fine without official servers in the past, just personally sad to me that for whatever reason God just doesn't seem to have it in his plans yet for us to get one running and popular.  Our group (and theirs, I'm sure) will continue on, using TS3 to hook up and jump on other servers and show em how the game's played :)  God Bless, and see ya on the battlefield!

5/15/2012:  Rcon Server is (finally) back up and running.  All of it duties have been resumed and all should be well.

5/12/2012:  In an apparent attempt to save Mother's Day across the world (or at least our clans), some higher power prevented the truck from delivering said power supply pushing the arrival date to this coming Monday.  Server still runs, just without commands, should be arriving early morning Monday and all will resume to a proper functioning condition..

5/9/2012:  The remote admin server took a dump last night - 1U power supply died and I have no backup for that particular unit.  It's on order and server should be back online by Friday evening.  Any issues, contact your friendly neighborhood Rooster :)

4/05/2012:  An update has arrived for one of the admin tools which is going to cause some minor downtime in the next day or two. (the other tool expects to also have an update available soon but will not require any downtime).  The tool will still work perfectly fine, but after the update there will be a few new commands to support features added to the most recent (R20) patch.  It's an invasive patch and will not be deployed till I am certain it doesn't "mess" with our existing settings :) 

3/29/2012:  Not much to say, we've been tweaking things here and there behind the scenes to get the server dialed in, and listed on the HC filter, lol, which it is currently..  There is a 1.5GB patch file, and a server-side update (R20 for those who like to google and know what's what), so who knows what lies in the road to come..  Get the patch and join us on TS :)

I'm happy to report an alliance has been formed once again with our good allies in Christ, the [WOTC] Warriors of the Cross.  As you can see above, our newly born server is online and ready for players!  (Well, sort of!)

As always, expect some small bumps in the road as we tune the server settings and get things dialed in just right.  We're going for a mixed gametype Hardcore server.  Name is not set, just something I threw in there for the time being.  We all agree that our clans will not have a presence in the name as it just isn't fair to either side.  Instead, we're going to go with the likes of Polite & Friendly., etc. and run with something without clan mention in the title. 

For those who still have procon installed (be sure you update it), you will be set up shortly, within the day.  Start getting the word out, and start playing on ours, lol :)
