That's right! The 1st official CoD:Black Ops map pack has shipped and is available! To summarize how this will affect you, please read the official statement from the developers:
With the launch of First Strike on the PC on March 25th, I would like to answer a few of the most frequently asked questions from the community pertaining to server admins, clients, and map rotations. Please read the below guide carefully before posting questions in the forums.
Clients:
Anyone can play on any server, regardless of whether or not you have DLC installed. All players will continue to receive patches (including 1.07, which deploys alongside First Strike). If a server rotates to a DLC map that you do not have installed on your PC, you will automatically get kicked from that server.
Note: There will be an additional browser filter introduced in patch 1.07 that allows you to exclude servers with DLC content in their rotation. Quick match searches will only put players into matches with content that they have installed.
Admins:
All servers will have First Strike available on March 25th. It will be at the server admin’s discretion whether or not to run DLC maps on their server. Admins will also have the freedom to choose which First Strike maps will run on their server.
Note: Admins will NOT have to purchase a copy of the map pack in order to install it on their dedicated server.
Hopefully that clears up some of the most frequently asked questions surrounding the DLC deployment that will take place on March 25th.

While we are a strict Xfire clan, with recent game(s) like Black Ops using Steam, I thought I'd point out to some of the newer members, or older members who don't use steam a whole lot, that cKs DOES have an official Steam Group. For all non-member regulars out there, you are also welcome to join our steam group as well, though of course, you will not have admin rights there :) If you'd like to be added to the group, fire me off a steam msg, and I'll get ya added.

Hey laptop owners!!
There was a class-action lawsuit that may concern some of you. If you bought a Dell, HP, or Apple laptop between 2005 and 2010, you may be elgible for a free replacement laptop or refund on repairs spent on your laptop. The two areas I am aware 
of (may or may not be more) involve the wifi adapter ceasing to function, and video failure (lines across screen, random computer crashes, or not even powering up). TS3 Server udpate!

In light of a recent poll by cks members, the TeamSpeak 3 server will now be passworded to keep "the riff-raff" out. Rest assured gamers, we're not talking about you, and you are all welcome to continue joining us on TS3. We've been having a problem because TS decided to create a master browser that foreign folk (as well as everyone else) can just browse a list and join any server they like; they target US servers, and ones with people on late (us..), and while they don't always come to start trouble, they come for reasons which are out of the scope of our teamspeak server. Therefore from now on, anyone using our TS will be required to use the password gojesus to get on. It is posted here and will be posted in all our game servers as well.

Well here we are again :) As His Birthday approaches (tomorrow) let us all take a moment and remember what He gave for us, and that the 'holidays' as they call it, are not about the presents, but about Jesus. Being a community which uses games as an instrument both to provide a save place for people to play, I woul
d be remiss if I didn't point out we've been really blessed lately with our two Cod:BO servers as well as our Battlefield BC2 server, all of which have seen amazing success. This is largely in part to dedicated regulars as well as our community populating and taking charge of server responsibilities; kicking/warning the rule breakers and maintaining a family-friendly place to play, have fun and enjoy! I'd like to thank each and every one of you for the time and/or donations you've given ensuring our success. No matter what/how you contribute, know that it makes a difference, for sure! :) Keep spreading the word about cKs and getting us out there on the map!
